- Analysis of recurring themes
- Prioritised issues
- Practical recommendations
- Concise written report
- Discussion of material findings where appropriate
Scope
The introductory assessment covers 10 standard-complexity completed onboarding files. Where files are sufficiently straightforward and it is agreed in advance, the sample can extend to approximately 15.
Files are reviewed against your policies and procedures and the relevant KYC/AML standards agreed at scoping. The sample and reference documents are confirmed with you before work starts.
What it is designed to achieve
- Show whether onboarding decisions and controls are applied consistently and defensibly.
- Identify recurring weaknesses, inconsistencies or control gaps.
- Give compliance leadership an independent view.
- Point remediation at the areas that need it.
Areas reviewed
Each file is looked at across six areas.
Identity and entity verification
Whether identity or entity evidence is sufficient, current and consistent with the file.
Beneficial ownership and control
Whether owners and controllers have been identified and evidenced to the standard your procedures require.
Customer risk assessment
Whether the rating is supported by the facts and applied consistently.
Sanctions, PEP and adverse-media screening
Whether results were reviewed, dispositioned and explained with enough rationale to re-perform.
Enhanced due diligence, where relevant
Whether higher-risk cases received the additional work your policy calls for.
Decision-making, rationale and audit trail
Whether a reviewer could understand why the file was approved, without asking the analyst.

Outside standard scope
The assessment is an independent quality assurance review. It is not:
- legal advice;
- regulatory certification;
- a formal audit opinion;
- a guarantee of regulatory compliance.
Remediating files, re-performing KYC, and reviews of wider frameworks such as transaction monitoring are not part of the fixed-fee assessment.
Different requirement?
If you need a larger sample, ongoing QA, complex-case review, onboarding support or another defined KYC/KYB piece of work, Veridium can discuss an appropriate scope and agree it in writing before starting.
Common questions
What counts as a standard-complexity file?
Typically a customer where ownership and control can be established without complex multi-layered structures or unusual jurisdictions. We confirm this at scoping, and discuss separately if your files are more complex.
Do you need copies of our customer documents?
Not where it can be avoided. The preferred approach is restricted access within your own environment, read-only where appropriate, so documents are not copied out unnecessarily.
What do you review the files against?
Your policies and procedures, together with the relevant KYC/AML standards agreed at scoping. The review tests whether those standards are being met in practice.
Is the £500 fee all-inclusive?
Yes, for the agreed scope. Anything beyond that scope is discussed and agreed before it begins.
